Accessibility statement.

Everyone should be able to find help fast, however they use the web.

Our commitment

Bay Area Clean Care wants everyone to be able to find help fast on this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification, or zoom. We work to make the site accessible and to keep it that way as it changes.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the international standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some content does not fully meet the standard: everything we built for this site was designed and tested to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and the only exceptions are the content from other companies listed below. We also follow the newer WCAG 2.2 where it adds more.

How we checked

This website was evaluated on September 29, 2026 by Chamberlin Design, the company that built it (a self-evaluation):

  • Automated testing with axe, the accessibility testing engine from Deque Systems, against every WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA rule it checks, on every type of page, on a computer and a phone. No issues were found.
  • Hands-on checks of keyboard use, visible focus, color contrast, zoom and reflow down to a 320 pixel wide screen, form labels and error messages, the cookie popup, and moving content.

What we did

  • A skip link, clear headings, and page landmarks so you can move around quickly.
  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible outline on whatever you are on, on light and dark backgrounds.
  • Text and buttons meet the WCAG color contrast levels, and pages still work when zoomed to 200% or on a small phone.
  • Photos have descriptions, and form fields have labels, clear error messages, and autofill.
  • Buttons and links are large enough to tap.
  • Anything that moves on its own, like the town names and the reviews, has a pause button, and it stays still if your device asks for less motion.
  • The cookie popup never blocks the page and works with a keyboard and a screen reader.

Known limitations

  • Service area map. The interactive map comes from Mapbox and is hard to use without a mouse or touch screen. Every town and both service zones are also listed in text beside the map and on our service area page.
  • Instagram photos. These come from our Instagram account, and some older posts may not have full descriptions.
  • YouTube videos. Videos play through YouTube, and their captions come from YouTube.

Technology

The site is built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA, and relies on them to be accessible. It is designed to work with current versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, and with screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA.
